Tuesday, November 25th: 

• Varsity wrestlers will meet at Laney no later than 4:30a to check weight and help pack the bus. 

• Weigh ins - 7:30a

• Wrestling starts - 8:45a

• Team will load the bus and return to Laney at the completion of the tournament

Format: Each team will wrestle five (5) dual meets. Three (3) mats will be used for the duration of the tournament.

Potential Teams: Hoke County, Cary, Franklinton, Green Hope, Laney, Wakefield, Western Harnett, Corinth-Holders, EE Smith, Pine Forest

• Plaque to the Team Champion

• Dixon historically puts on a very well run tournament. Last year, Varsity was done by 4:00p!

• In past years, Dixon has utilized a separate building quite a distance from the main gym. They did NOT do this last year but if they decide to use this auxiliary gym, it is quite a distance so be prepared to walk.

• Wrestlers should have money for concessions/meals!!

• Wrestlers should also be packing their personal coolers for a full-day event!! Yes, we will have the snack boxes but as a reminder, these boxes are only intended to SUPPLEMENT what the wrestlers personally bring. 

• Dixon HS is about 45 minutes from Laney by car.  This is one of the closest tournaments to Laney so hopefully we can have a big fan base.

• I believe Onslow County has a "clear bag" policy for spectators

• Definitely bring your phone charger. Parents, bring your seat cushion. This will be an all day event!!

• Gyms are either freezing or boiling hot...prepare like a boy scout (last year Dixon's gym was freezing).

HOME TRI-MEET VS ASHLEY AND WHITE OAK  - **Ya'll, this is our 2nd of only 4 home duals of the regular season. Please spread the word and let’s fill our bleachers with Laney fans!!!! 

• Date: Thursday, 11/20

• Place: Laney High School, MJ gym

• Time: Start time 5:00p

• Varsity Men and Women - report to the practice room immediately after school

• JV Wrestlers - report to the MJ Gym immediately after school to help set up for the Tri-Meet

• **I do not know the order that they will compete and I'm tired of guessing :0) I recommend spectators arrive by 5:00p to support ALL our wrestlers

• *JV – Coaches from both teams make every effort to arrange JV matches when possible. Sometimes JV matches are held BEFORE Varsity and sometimes AFTER. A conference JV match is not guaranteed for every wrestler. It depends heavily on the opposing team's roster. Again, every effort is made to give the wrestlers live matches whenever possible.

• Snack/water Donations: We are covered for snacks and waters for this dual. THANK YOU to the Noe, Nelson, and Daniel families!!

     Needham B. Broughton High School

     723 St. Mary's Street

     Raleigh, NC 27605

Tickets: 

• $10 for all day

• Wake Co Schools typically uses GoFan for tickets although I did not see this event on the site yet. If it is added, tickets can be purchased via the link below:

Schedule:

Saturday, November 15th:

• JV wrestlers will meet at Laney at 4:00a to check weight and help pack the bus. 

• Bus will leave Laney at ~4:30a. DO NOT MISS THE BUS!!!

• Weigh ins - 7:00a

• Wrestling starts - 9:00a

• Team will load the bus and return home at the completion of the tournament

Format: 

• JV will wrestle a modified 8-man bracket to guarantee three (3) matches.

• THIS INFORMATION IS FOR JV ONLY. MEN'S VARSITY (INCLUDING ALTERNATE MEN) & WOMEN WILL COMPETE IN CATAMOUNT DUALS. SEE SEPARATE EMAIL FOR CATAMOUNT DETAILS.

• We have never attended this event so my information is pretty limited.

• BACKGROUND STORY: "This is a memorial tournament in remembrance of 4 former Broughton wrestlers whose lives were tragically cut short. Jodie Matthews, Jackson Griffin, Lamont Burt, and Kaleb Wright were leaders on and off the mat and made a difference in the community."

• Wrestlers should have money for concessions/meals!!

• Wrestlers should also be packing their personal coolers for a full-day event!! Yes, we will have the snack boxes but as a reminder, these boxes are only intended to SUPPLEMENT what the wrestlers personally bring. 

• Broughton HS is about 2 hrs from Laney by car

• I believe Wake County has a "clear bag" policy for spectators

• Definitely bring your phone charger. Parents, bring your seat cushion. This will be an all day event!!

• On tournament days, make Trackwrestling your friend.

  • Men, Women and JV typically have SEPARATE EVENTS listed in the system so make sure you are in the correct event!

    • IN THE "SEARCH EVENTS" PAGE, UTILIZE THE AVAILABLE FIELDS TO CONDUCT YOUR SEARCH

      • ONE WAY TO SEARCH IS BY TYPING IN A SEARCH WORD FOR YOUR "EVENT NAME" (ie: "catamount" for Catamount Dual Tournament) 

      • ** KEEP IT SIMPLE!

HOME CONFERENCE DUAL VS SOUTH BRUNSWICK - **Ya'll, this is our 1st of only 4 home duals of the regular season. Please spread the word and let’s fill our bleachers with Laney fans!!!! 

• Date: Wednesday, 11/12

• Place: Laney High School, MJ gym

• Time: 5:00p start time

• Varsity Men and Women - report to the practice room immediately after school

• JV Wrestlers - report to the MJ Gym immediately after school to help set up for the dual

• Women and Men’s Varsity will dual South Brunswick and any applicable JV matches that can be arranged will take place. **I do not know the order that they will compete and I'm tired of guessing :0) I recommend spectators arrive by 5:00p to support ALL our wrestlers

• South Brunswick historically has had a rather large women’s team

• *JV – Coaches from both teams make every effort to arrange JV matches when possible. Sometimes JV matches are held BEFORE Varsity and sometimes AFTER. A conference JV match is not guaranteed for every wrestler. It depends heavily on the opposing team's roster. Again, every effort is made to give the wrestlers live matches whenever possible.

• Snack/water Donations: We are covered for snacks and waters for this dual. THANK YOU to the Kiser/Willis, Nelson, Sarvis, and Noe families!!

• WRESTLERS AND FAMILIES, PLEASE PLEASE, AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE EVENT, TAKE A MOMENT TO LOOK AROUND THE BLEACHERS AND PICK UP ANY TRASH THAT YOU SEE.

• Tickets: Tickets are $9 for Adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased via the link below. I don’t know if cash will be accepted.
